Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator

Just having fun

I have been so inspired by cards I've seen online (especially on the Stampin' Up demonstrator website) that I combined two techniques into one card (backwards-opening card and the poppy breaking through the framelit die). The card below was made for my friend (and downline), Ryn.  It's a backward-opening card.  I used the Pleasant Poppies stamp set on the front.  I let one flower burst through the cut of the framelit die, as you can see.  I first saw it done by another Stampin' Up demonstrator, Brian King (stampwithbrian.com).

Below is a close-up of the flower.

When you open the card, below is what you see.

You then open the card again to get to the center.  It opens backwards from a regular card.  The Woohoo! stamp I used is from the Cuddles & Kisses stamp set in the spring catalog.  I used Woohoo! because Ryn just promoted to Sr. Associate.

I stamped the poppies on the envelope, too, and wrapped the design around the back of the envelope.  I've been wrapping the design around the envelopes lately and love the look it gives to the envelope.

Here is the back of the envelope so you can see the design I stamped is wrapped around it.

Hope you enjoyed seeing what I've been working on this week.

Just a few cards I've made this week

I want to share a few cards with you that I made recently.

I love the new Tea for Two Designer Series Paper and came up with the card below.  I used a strip of vellum that I ran through the Big Shot to get the pattern on the top and bottom.  I heat embossed "love" from the Best of February stamp set.  I added a few flowers from the 5/8" flower trim, and my card was done.

To color my flowers, I lightly tapped them in the ink pad.  The card turned out quite lovely, if I do say so myself.

Another card I made is a tri-fold card.  I saw a video by a Stampin' Up demonstrator, Donna Weatherby, on how to make this card, so I had to try making one.  The front of the card, below, is done in three colors:  black, white, and Daffodil Delight.

Pennie, my upline, had a challenge for our meeting this month -- to use black and white with one other color on a card to swap.  There would be five of us at the meeting, so I'd need to make five identical cards.  I made the card as a possible swap, but I decided on another design to make for everyone.  I would have had to order more of several supplies to reproduce five more exact copies of this card.  Instead, the card went to my upline as a thank you for how wonderful she is.

By the way, the ribbon on the card is actually made with three ribbons that we sell:  the 5/8" Organza ribbon is on the bottom, the 1/2" Seam Binding ribbon in Daffodil Delight is next, and the Basic Black 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon is on top.  Below is a picture of the open card.

I then made a scribble card in black, white, and old olive.  It was the card I decided to make for the swap at our meeting.  I used the free Sale-a-bration stamp set called Bloomin' Marvelous.

As you can see, it's been a good week for me for stamping.

Until next time,
Tina
